Stockbridge & Berry: A Brief History
Stockbridge
& Berry started as the vision of Kimberly Cornell back in the early
1980's when she began selling her country crafts at kiosks in local
malls. Her popularity soon outgrew her booths so in 1985 she opened
two country gift and furniture stores, called Seven Country Ducks, one
in New Haven, CT and another in Monroe, CT.
In 1987,
her new husband, Erick Feucht joined the operation. In the early 1990's
the business grew so much that it needed to find a new home for the
furniture so a separate location was opened in Monroe. That proved so
successful that in 2002 they opened an additional furniture store in
Southbury, CT in the old general store building on Main Street.
The name
was changed at that time to Stockbridge & Berry to allow their stylistic
offerings to not be limited by the term "Country." Our reputation has
grown steadily over the years, and many homes, from humble to grand,
have found just what they needed at Stockbridge & Berry. You may now
find Stockbridge & Berry stores in Monroe & Southbury, as well as here
on the web. Stay tuned for an expanding web site with online shopping.
